The Golden Fleece

This beautiful little place is fantastic, nice atmosphere, very friendly staff and always a warm welcome. Out of any of the pubs I have previously used on my many visits to York, this wins everytime. Would also like to wish Ivan and the other staff a very happy Christmas and a properous new year.

Really narrow inside The Fleece, which claims to be York's most haunted pub. Lady Pecket is said to have been a lady of the night who strangled punters in Peckets yard to the side of the pub.

Inside are long angled corridors, and uneven floors as the place is said to have no foundations.

Big screen in the back bar for watching the football and a bit of a beer garden to the back which is overlooked by the supposedly haunted rooms which can be rented by the brave, foolhardy, or those needing somewhere to sleep off a hangover.
